About the BSA

Scouting and Congress

From their first days in Scouting, young people learn the importance of character and integrity. Their journey often takes them to amazing places — including the halls of Washington, D.C. Of the 535 members of the 115th U.S. Congress, 150 — or, 28 percent, including 33 Eagle Scouts — have some sort of connection to the BSA either as a former youth member, as an Eagle Scout, or as an adult volunteer.
