As the Assistant Chief Scout Executive – National Director of Outdoor Adventures, Al Lambert works with volunteer committees and staff members to deliver a range of exhilarating, once-in-a-lifetime outdoor experiences to the BSA’s youth members and adult volunteers. This includes responsibility for the BSA’s four high adventure bases: Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Florida National High Adventure Sea Base in the Florida Keys, Northern Tier High Adventure Base in Minnesota, and the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia.
Al began his career with the BSA in the Chicago Area Council. He went on to serve in several capacities at BSA local councils in Forest Hills, Pennsylvania; Hagerstown, Maryland; Bethesda, Maryland; and Manchester, New Hampshire; before joining the National Service Center as regional director of the Central Region.
He is a graduate of Salem College in Salem, West Virginia.
