Eagle Scout Candidate Donates 135 Turkeys for Holidays

During the holiday season, most people are in a “giving frame of mind.” One Eagle Scout candidate in the Columbia, Missouri area demonstrates this through his Eagle Scout project.

A member of Great Rivers Council’s Troop 68, chartered to Midway Locust Grove United Methodist Church Men’s Club in Columbia, 14-year-old Brayden Stallons, collected and donated 135 turkeys to his local food bank. A freshman at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Stallons partnered with The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri to donate the turkeys for his Eagle Scout project.

According to KOMU 8 television station, “the drive collected enough food or money to buy food to cover 1,456,180 pounds of food.”
