Longtime Scouts Reunite to Honor Former Scoutmasters

Scouts currently in the program are meeting all around the nation everyday to hear from their Scoutmasters. But a not-so-common occurrence happens when a group of former troop mates gather to honor their Scoutmasters of years past.

Troop 1674 met at St. Ives Roman Catholic Church in Southfield, MI, in the 70s and 80s. More than 30 years later and much has changed. The church is now Our Lady of the Albanians and the children who once met there are now grown men with children and families of their own.

The men’s respect and admiration for their Scoutmasters has remained, however.

Check out the full story on The Oakland Press to learn more about the dozen grown Scouts who gathered to honor their five Scoutmasters as James West Fellows.
