Matt Moniz, 16, accepting Outdoor Inspiration Award

Matt Moniz has summited all 50 U.S. state high points, was named the 2010 National Geographic Adventurer of the year, and holds the record as the youngest person to summit Mount Elbrus, Mount Aconcagua, and Makalu –and that’s just the short list of his incredible feats.

At just 16, this Eagle Scout is shattering global records left and right and there’s no sign of him slowing down. At last week’s Outdoor Retailer winter show in Salt Lake City, Matt added one more honor to that ever-lengthening list: Youth winner of the Outdoor Inspiration Award.
