“We have been through a lot in the last few years, and we are very proud of the good work that has been done and the bright future that is ahead of us,” said Brad Tilden, Chair of the BSA’s National Executive Board. “I could not be more proud to be working alongside these passionate and dedicated servant leaders as we work together to implement a new roadmap for our future.”
The Annual Election of the National Executive Board of the National Council of the BSA was held October 13, 2023. The slate of 47 members includes the reelection of 36 members and the election of 11 new members, eight of whom were recommended by BSA local councils. The BSA thanks 27 board members who are retiring and six who continue to serve the movement as emeritus board members as we downsize the board and implement term limits and other measures.

“All of us in the BSA owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jim Turley, the Governance and Nominating committee, and the Governance Task Force for running an extensive and transparent process over the last two years in which all of our movement had input into the make-up of our new board,” said Tilden.
“We also want to express our deep gratitude to the outgoing board members who have tirelessly dedicated their time and efforts to our country’s youth,” said Tilden. “Their unwavering support and guidance have been invaluable in shaping the organization’s success, and our hope is that they stay close to our movement far into the future.”
