Scouting America was incorporated in Chicago, Illinois, on February 8, 1910. Since then, millions of young men and women have joined Scouting and have learned the values of patriotism, courage, and self-reliance.
“I have been involved in Scouting for more than 50 years, which has made a profoundly positive impact upon my life,” Rep. Thompson said. “The lessons learned from Scouting are invaluable. I am grateful for my colleagues on the Scouting Caucus for celebrating this cause and ensuring the legacy of Scouting will continue to grow for generations to come.”

This resolution recognizes an institution that strengthens our communities, prepares leaders, and quietly builds the moral backbone of our nation, and I am proud to serve as a co-lead in honoring its legacy.”
