IRVING, TX (May 20, 2025) Scouting America is proud to announce the appointment of three distinguished individuals to its National Executive Board.
Supporting the work of Scouting America and providing mission-based leadership and strategic governance, the National Executive Board consists of 45 members who are selected based on their experience and expertise in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. These new members bring a wealth of diverse experience and a deep commitment to the mission of preparing young people for life.
“We are thrilled to welcome these distinguished leaders to our National Executive Board,” said Brad Tilden, national chair of Scouting America. “Their diverse backgrounds and proven dedication to serving others will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and impact on young people across the country.”
The annual election of the Scouting America National Executive Board was held on May 16, 2025, during the National Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
Reuben Brigety, II: Reuben Brigety II is a recipient of the District Award of Merit, International Scouters Award, Community Organization Award, Scouter’s Training Award, and William D. Boyce New-Unit Organizer Award. He is president of Busara Advisors, a strategic advisory firm helping companies do business in Africa. A U.S. Naval Academy Distinguished Midshipman Graduate, Brigety has served as U.S. ambassador to the Republic of South Africa and U.S. representative to the African Union. He has been a Scoutmaster, troop committee chair, and assistant Scoutmaster and has served on his council executive board. He is an Order of the Arrow member, has completed Wood Badge training, and has one Eagle Scout son and another who’s a Life Scout.
William Q. Derrough: William “Bill” Quesada Derrough is a recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout and James E. West Fellowship awards, as well as his local council’s John C. Whitehead Good Scout Award. His leadership has helped the global investment bank Moelis & Company become one of the world’s top recapitalization and restructuring teams. He is active in multiple nonprofit organizations dedicated to ensuring opportunities for all youth and has served on the boards of Bennington College, Academy of St. Joseph, Regis High School, Youth Inc., and the Catholic Church’s National Pastoral Life Center. Derrough received the Saint Francis Service Award from the Catholic Renewal division of Catholic Charities of New York and previously served as Democratic National Committee Treasurer.
Frederick W. Grimm: Frederick W. Grimm is a recipient of the Silver Beaver and Silver Antelope awards and is an Eagle Scout. He has served on the board of his local council since 1999, and served as council president, Western Region Area 1 president, and on the committee for the Grand Columbia Council/Chief Seattle Council merger. Grimm is a founder of Triad Development Inc., a national real estate development company. He’s also the co-founder and venture partner of Pier 70 Ventures, where he advises on financial strategy and investments. Grimm has served on the board of trustees at the University of Puget Sound and has funded more than 60 scholarships to deserving graduates from his high school alma mater.
