Scouting America Appoints Chuck Brasfeild as Executive Vice President of Operations

Scouting America is delighted to announce the appointment of Chuck Brasfeild to the role of Assistant Chief Scout Executive, Executive Vice President of Operations, effective June 1, 2025. Brasfeild brings a wealth of experience and a demonstrated history of strong leadership within the Scouting movement to this national leadership position.

Most recently, Brasfeild served as the Scout Executive for the Greater Colorado Council in Denver, Colorado. His career with Scouting America also includes tenures as Scout Executive in Sacramento, California (Golden Empire Council), and Griffin, Georgia (Flint River Council). Prior to his move to Griffin, Brasfeild was a valued member of the Central Florida Council staff in Orlando, Florida.

“We are excited to welcome Chuck to his new role within the organization,” said Roger Krone, president and CEO of Scouting America. “With his extensive experience and passion for the Scouting mission, I’m confident in the invaluable contributions he will make in his new role.”

A native of Mississippi and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, Brasfeild’s dedication to Scouting spans 25 years, beginning in 1998 as a district executive at the Central Florida Council. Over the following decade, he held various positions within the council, culminating in his role as director of field service.

“I’m excited to embark on this new chapter with Scouting America,” said Brasfeild. “This role presents a remarkable opportunity to contribute at a national level, and I look forward to working together with our dedicated volunteers and staff to deliver truly exceptional Scouting experiences for young people across the country.”

Brasfeild’s commitment to youth development extends beyond his professional roles. He has served as a Cubmaster and dedicated over 15 seasons to coaching basketball and soccer. His personal interests include running multiple half-marathons and marathons, and his current unique hobby of chicken farming. Chuck and his wife, Katie, are deeply involved in Scouting, with all three of their children having participated in the program.
