Hunt brings a longstanding connection to Scouting and a distinguished record of using art to preserve and celebrate the movement’s history, values, and impact. An Eagle Scout from Troop 1008 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Hunt previously served as artist-in-residence at the 2017 National Scout Jamboree and the 2018 National Order of the Arrow Conference, where he engaged with thousands of Scouts while creating artwork and sharing his creative process.

His work helps tell our story, honor our traditions, and inspire future generations of young people.”
Throughout his career, Hunt has created historical illustrations and commemorative paintings depicting significant moments in Scouting history. His artwork has been exhibited at national events and featured in the National Scouting Museum. His acclaimed works include paintings that celebrate youth leadership, service, and the enduring spirit of the Scouting movement.
Hunt credits his Scouting experiences with helping shape his professional path. As a youth, he served on summer camp staff, taught merit badges, designed lodge patches, and discovered a passion for education and mentorship that ultimately led him to pursue a degree in art education. He later interned with the Boy Scouts of America, creating historical illustrations that documented some of the organization’s earliest milestones.
“I am deeply honored to serve as Scouting America’s Artist in Residence,” said Hunt. “Some of my earliest experiences as an artist and educator began in Scouting. This residency is a chance to give back to a program that set me on my path. I look forward to capturing the experiences and stories of Scouting and adding a new chapter to its visual history.”
As Artist in Residence, Hunt will create original works inspired by Scouts and Scouters nationwide, participate in major national events, collaborate on educational and historical initiatives, and help visually document the experiences that define Scouting America. His residency will focus on connecting art, outdoor adventure, service, leadership, and character development through compelling visual storytelling.
Known for his thoughtful creative process and dedication to authenticity, Hunt’s work often begins with extensive research and sketching before evolving into detailed compositions that capture meaningful moments and enduring values.
The Artist in Residence program reflects Scouting America’s continued commitment to preserving its history, celebrating its members, and engaging new audiences through innovative storytelling and artistic expression.
